Dorris Irene Hueter

Dorris Irene Hueter passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in Abilene Texas.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Tx. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Dorris was born on March 31, 1943, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, to her parents Goldsmith Maurice Jones, and Willie Mae Jones. Dorris married her husband Kenneth Hueter in 1998, and they enjoyed 24 years of marriage together.

Dorris was a hard worker and was a mail office clerk. She loved going to the casino where she was sometimes lucky, she loved crocheting and crafting Christmas items and was famous for crafting her snow people. Dorris had a small crafting business called The Grand Armoire, she would go to Apple Hill, Ca, to sell her snow people and crafts at a boutique booth.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Hueter; sons, Steven Wheeler, and Jimmy King; daughters, Lynda Lee, and Barbara Hall; sister, Donna Jones; brother, Jerry Jones; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends that loved her dearly.

Dorris is preceded in death by her parents, Goldsmith Maurice Jones, and Willie Mae Jones.
