Carmen G. Long, 73 passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in Abilene, Texas. A prayer service will be held 6 PM - 8 PM on Tuesday March 14, 2023 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South, Abilene, Texas 79606. Funeral Services will be at 2 PM on Wednesday March 15, 2023, at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South, Abilene, Texas 79606. Interment will follow at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories, 5701 HWY 277 South, Abilene, Texas.

Carmen was born in Houston, Tx on November 18, 1949, to her mother Ramona Ojeda. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved cooking for her family. Carmen enjoyed many things like puzzles, crosswords, playing bingo, going to the casino, and dancing. She was a eucharistic minister of St. Francis Catholic Church and would help cook on Sundays at the church.

She is survived by her; step-father, Felix Ojeda; daughters, Monica Gaona, Deanna and husband Jose Reyes, Sonia and husband Marcos Aguero; grandchildren, Claudia, Scott, Danielle, Gabriella, Erica, Marcus Jr., Andrew; great grandchildren, Dahlia, Lily, Josiah, Noriah, Joseph, Isabella, Sophia, Mariana, Damien, Josh, Isaiah, Chasity, Christian, Marcus II, Mariah, Vanessa, Savannah, Andrew Jr; ex-husband and lifelong friend, Rudy Gaona; sisters, Hortencia, Clara, Rosie, Sulema, Ramona, Dolores; honorary sisters, Dominga Barrera, Mary Martinez; and lots of nieces and nephews.

Carmen is preceded in death by her; mother, Ramona Gamez Ojeda; brothers, Joe Contreras, Alfred "Freddy" Contreras; sister, Mary Angela Gonzales.
