Martin Castillo, age 77, of Abilene, Texas passed away July 24, 2012 at Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, July 27, 2012 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with Juan Gomez officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Viewing for friends and family will be Thursday July 26th from 6-8 at the funeral home.
Martin was born on December 12, 1934 in Floresville, Texas to Ignacio & Felicita (Torres) Castillo. Martin was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness and avid bible reader. He considered his service to Jehovah to be of utmost importance in his life. Martin was known to his family as Mr. Fix It and was eager to tackle any and all home projects himself. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Antonia Arroyo of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Armando and wife Linda of Abilene, Daniel Castillo of Abilene; three daughters, Sylvia Taylor of Abilene, Alice Soto and husband Daniel of Abilene, Lucy Rodriguez and husband Llano of San Antonio; two brothers, Ruben Sr. and wife Anjela of Weinert,Texas, David Sr. and wife Elvira of Goree, Texas; three sisters, Lydia Castillo of Winters, Texas, Juanita Dias of Benson, Minnesota, and Elizabeth (Chavela)Perez of Natalia, Texas; as well as 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ignacio Castillo II, Abelardo Castillo, Lupe Castillo; and one grandson Antonio Castillo.
