Marvin Ray Massey, 79, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010 in Abilene. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 4, 2010 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South. Viewing and visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Marvin was born on June 13, 1930 in Merkel the son of Jack Massey and Dolly Sherrill Massey. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and has worked as a roofer in the Abilene area most of his life. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his sons, Norman Massey and wife Patty of Houston, Joel Massey and wife Jeannie of Houston, Carrol Massey and wife Brenda of Abilene and Jeff Massey of Houston; one daughter, Elizabeth Landrum and husband James of Houston; two step-sons, James Edward Taylor and George Wayne Taylor both of Abilene; a step-daughter, Jennifer Gibson of Abilene; one sister, Sue Todd of Lamesa; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
His wife Sara preceded him in death.
